Job Description
Plans and carries out policies relating to all phases of human resources activity by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
Recruits employees to fill vacant professional and management level positions.
Conducts wage survey within labor market to determine competitive wage rate.
Oversees the analysis, maintenance, and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies or other departments in the organization.
Studies legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contract to assess industry trends.
Represents management in negotiating collective bargaining agreements.
Prepares personnel forecast to project employment needs.
Represents organization at personnel related hearings and investigations.
Oversees safety and health programs and provides technical assistance as needed.
Contracts with outside suppliers to provide employee services such as Canteen, transportation, or relocation services.
Plans and directs activities of staff in carrying out such functions as developing sources of qualified applicants, conducting screening interviews, administering tests, checking references and background, evaluating applicant qualification, and arranging for initial orientation and training of hired employees.
Analyzes statistical reports and other data using knowledge of job requirements, valid selection processes, and legislation concerning equal employment practices in order to identify and determine causes of problems or inefficiencies in the employment function.
Administration of benefits such as insurance coverage and retirement plan.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Must come from manufacturing
Bachelors degree, Human Resource or related discipline preferred; and five to eight years related experience and/or training in Human Resources.
Experience in collective bargaining; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SPHR certification is preferred.
